January 4 Selectmen's Meeting Bids for 2,000 yards of road sand, delivered and mixed for the 2016/2017 season were Elmer's Construction for $17,500 @ $8.75 a yard. Elmer's being the only bid, was awarded the bid by two votes for $17,500. Bids for town lawns were: The By Us Company, $4,450; Norman Morse, $2,500; Wayne Hammond, $2,700; Snow Be Gone - $3,000. Wayne Hammond was awarded the bid with the offer of three years at the current bid amount. Two boats at the town landing will remain there this year, but the owners will be informed that there will not be storage after this year.

Wildlife Notes Under my office window two young deer have been lying down for a couple of hours after feeding, a beautiful sight. Other visitors feeding have been juncos, blue jays, mourning doves, goldfinches, chickadees, ravens and red squirrels.
