Harlem Superstars

The NHS students from the junior class Dream Team went up against the Harlem Superstars Tuesday evening March 24, 2015 in the gym at Narraguagus High School. This was another successful night for them with many folks coming out to enjoy the game. This was the first time that I had ever attended something like this, and it was amazing to see all ages enjoying this and I had a good time too. The students enjoyed meeting and getting pictures taken with the Superstars during the evening.

Destination Imagination

On Saturday, the Destination Imagination Team from D W Merritt Elementary School traveled to Orono for their competition. I watched both of the teams compete and felt that these two teams did a wonderful job in their category. The students were well behaved and represented our school well.

Congratulations goes out to the Cherryfield Elementary School who had two teams compete on Saturday with one team coming in first place in their competition.

Condolences

go out to the family of Eldon Lewis "Bud" Dyer of Jonesport on his passing. His family will surely miss him.

Get well wishes

need to go out to Ronnie Gray, Carroll Strout, Helena Britton, Fred Crowley, Forrest Caler, Marie Ramsdell and Vonalee Huckings and all of the rest that are not up to par.

I was in Ellsworth on Sunday to visit with my husband and to drop off magazines that had been given to me to take to the Nursing Home. I was cleaning out some of mine again and took them as well. I took some of Carroll’s Alaska magazines for him to read. Tiffany, Zac and Konner Strout also stopped by on their way home from the Sportsman Show in Augusta for a quick visit with Carroll. Carroll said he has had a few folks come by during the week to say hello.

Vonalee Huckings was also glad to see me when I popped in for a short visit to see how she was doing.

Spring

The weather on Sunday was great to get out and about and almost felt like spring had sprung. A few folks went for a walk or a run during the day to get exercise.

Genealogy

Liz Rapp has contacted me on some genealogy this past week. She is hunting down her 2nd great grandfather James Monroe White born 1810 in Columbia or Machias, Me. and how he may be related to William B White of Columbia. It seems that both were born about 1810 and then both are found in New York in 1850-60’sand then in MN in 1870-80’s. I will be going through some of my info to see if I can help her with any of this.

Hulda Peterson of Harrington called me and she has been having computer trouble so her news hasn’t been in lately; she is in hopes to get back on line this week as she has lots of news to share.
